Become a BDA member

The British Deaf Association was set up in 1890 to support Deaf people and protect British Sign Language.

The BDA celebrates its 125th anniversary from July 2015 – July 2016.

In celebration of this historic milestone, the BDA is offering everyone FREE membership throughout 2015 and 2016.


Membership Benefits:

  • Free membership from January 2015 to December 2016
  • Vote in BDA’s Chair and Trustee elections (16+ over)
  • Attend Members-only events hosted by our regional groups
  • Invitation to attend BDA’s National Conference and AGM hosted at a different location every year
  • Get BDA Campaign updates and join our campaign events
  • Receive e-newsletters and member information, such as Annual Reports and event information
  • Participate in special interest groups, forums and surveys to discuss issues that matter to you
  • Access to our website with news and information about the Deaf community
  • Post, chat and connect with other members on the BDA’s official Facebook & Twitter pages.

How to become a BDA member:

It’s easy - you have two options:
1) Complete an online membership form below and hit the submit button ('Become a Member'). You will get an email confirmation from BDA’s Membership assistant.
2) Download and print a membership form and post it to BDA’s Head office as instructed on the form.
