BSL Debates

The British Deaf Association are planning a series of BSL Debates located around the UK as part of this year’s BSL Day celebrations in March 2012.

The Community Development Team’s BSL Debates will be held at:

- Friday 9th March - St John's Deaf Club, Green Lanes Centre, London N4 2HE

- Monday 12th March - Bury Deaf Club, 8 Tenterden Street, Bury BL9 0EG

- Tuesday 13th March - Newcastle Deaf Centre, 2 Summerhill Grove, Summerhill Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 6EE

- Wednesday 14th March - Birmingham Deaf Community Group, Ladywood Social Club, Ladywood Middleway, Birmingham B16 8SY

- Thursday 15th March - Centre for Deaf People, 16-18 King Square, Bristol

- Friday 23rd March - Derby Deaf Club, Rycote Centre, Parker Street, Derby DE1 3HF

Door opens 6.30pm, debate begins 7.00pm

The Debate topic will be:"Should we have a BSL Law?"Robin Ash (Community Development Team Manager) and Thomas Lichy (Community Campaigns Officer) will lead these debates to show reasons why BSL should or should not become Law.

So, will you agree or disagree? Please come along and make your views known on the night.

Door entry will be £2 per person and BSL interpreters will be provided.
