Deaf Community Advocacy, Development and Empowerment

Our team covers Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.  They may have different titles but the work is generally the same.

The work is to make sure that Deaf people can discuss their concerns with their local services.  We aim to inform local services about how they should work, using our BSL Charter as a basis for good practice.

We aim to set up forums so that your services can meet you and you can say what you think about your services.

We do not provide services so we are impartial – we facilitate many forums to make sure that both sides learn from them.  Our work is mainly focused on local authorities and health boards.  Sometimes we also work with local police services.
